Beachy Head

Experience one of the most iconic and recognisable spots in Eastbourne. Beachy Head is a series of white chalk cliffs stretching 530ft high. It is the UK's highest chalk sea cliff and offers panoramic views over Eastbourne and the English Channel. 

Choose from walking the foot of Beachy Head or climb to the top to capture the breathtaking views.

Seven Sisters Country Park

Best known for its stunning white cliffs, Seven Sisters Country Park is a beautiful country park with a number of walking trails, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. A few popular options include:

The Seven Sisters Walk- A 13.6-mile hike taking you along the cliffs and offering stunning coastal views. Although so areas are challenging, the scenery makes it worthwhile.

The Cuckmere Haven Walk- A 4-mile walk through the beautiful Cuckmere Haven valley, featuring meadows, woodlands, and the river.

Easy access trail- A 1-2 miles walk following the valley floor down to the shingle beach and the mouth of the River Cuckmere.

Eastbourne's Pier and Seafront

Offering a lovely and leisurely stroll with stunning coastal views, Eastbourne's Pier and seafront is the perfect walking trail for all.

Eastbourne's sea front is just a stone's throw from The View Hotel and stretches for 3 miles. This walk takes you along the shingle beach with views of the English Channel, Beachy Head's famous white chalk cliffs, and Eastbourne's town centre.

Eastbourne's Pier is 300 metres long, providing a lovely walk steeped in history. Explore the variety of shops displayed, enjoy fish and chips, or step back in time and enter the Victorian Tea Rooms for a traditional afternoon tea.

South Downs Walks

This 100-mile-long distance trail runs from Winchester to Eastbourne and offers stunning views of the South Downs National Park. 

With its award winning 161km trail you'll be spoilt for route to take.

The South Downs Way offers a diverse journey through protected and rare habitats, whether you're walking, moutain biking, or on horseback. The trail features impressive chalk rivers, rare species, rich chalk grasslands, and ancient woodlands. Along the way, you'll encounter five National Nature Reserved and dozens of Sites of Special Scientific Interest, providing up-close views of stunning wildlife.
